The Game Season 5 Premiere Recap

The Sabers are back! Tonight was the season premiere of The Game and just in case you missed it, Girl TD has the recap.  They waisted no time getting to the drama.

The episode started with Derwin and Melanie leaving the hospital after Derwin found out about her secret abortion.  While Melanie was owning up to her mistakes (for once) and Derwin was fuming, they happen to run into a blast from Melanie's past.
McHottie!  Also knows as McNottie.  Not unlikely since they were on hospital grounds.

Once at home, Derwin decides to forgive Melanie for the abortion and apologizes for having left her to make that decision alone.  He assumes it had to have been his baby since they had been college sweethearts.

Back at the mansion, Malik brings his mile-high super model, rehab-partner-turned girlfriend home. Unimpressed with Jenna's altered state and afraid for Malik's reputation, Tasha urges Malik to take Jenna to rehab.  Turns out, not even the new and improved Malik takes orders from Tasha Mack.  To keep his girlfriend's career from taking a hit, Malik refuses to dial 911 and decides to sober her up himself.

Tasha is beginning to feel sick with regret over dropping Derwin as a client and choosing Malik.  In a moment of weakness, Tasha Mack begins to cry (yes, Tasha Mack cries).  That's when Tee Tee shows up, not only with wings, but to confirm Tasha's fear: she should have kept Derwin as a client instead of Malik.

In the meantime, Jenna goes missing in Malik's mega mansion.  While they begin a search party to find Jenna, Tasha has a one-on-one with Tee Tee who gives her some advice on how to handle her son: choose yourself.  Instead, Tasha decides to stand by Malik.

While the other Sabers are dealing with issues on the home front, Jason is at a bar.  Due to his usual charm and wit, he gets into an argument with the bartender, Chardonnay (Brandy).  After behaving like a jerk, he gets her fired.  Later, Jason catches his daughter kissing her Caucasian boyfriend, after hearing her make disparaging remarks about not dating chocolate, Jason begins to examine his own issues with black women.

To ease his guilty conscience Jason goes back to the bar and asks Chardonnay out to dinner since he got her fired.  Jason wakes up the next morning to discover that instead of ribs at Chili's, he's gotten a ring.  Jason and Chardonnay got married in Tijuana and she has a ring and the pictures to prove it.

Finally, Melanie decides to stop keeping secrets and confesses to Derwin that she had gotten pregnant by Trey Wiggs after Derwin cheated with Drew Sidora.  Derwin has a hard time with it initially, but then simmers until Trey Wiggs shows up for Derwin Jr.'s birthday party.  Derwin greets him with a smile and then knocks him out cold. Derwin returns to the party and Trey Wiggs takes a nap. Boom!

This is going to be an interesting season, but Girl TD suspects that Trey Wiggs might just put Derwin in a choke hold again.  What did you think of tonight's episode?

  1. I actually felt like we got a taste of what the Original Game was bringing to us, and it was very exciting!!! My prediction was also correct about Melanie getting pregnant by Trey Wiggs after the hurtful break up between she and Derwin. Malik is going to go through the motions this season. Because nobody wants to deal with BS on their team. Tasha needs to only wear her mama hat when it comes to Malik because the manager hat want stand a chance unless she picks up Derwin and a few more clients. Jason married to Chardonnay if they stay married or get it annulled I think he's gonna end up feeling her because it not the (norm) for him. But I do want him and Kelly to somehow find their way back to each other not with old baggage, but new beginnings. This dude cracks me up with his jokes heyoooo. TeTe is getting a little wiser he needs a boo thang. Some where in all this there will be a twist. This is my opinion of what I think The Game will bring us for season 5 and I'm ready!!!
